How long have you worked in Travel?
This is my 50th year working in travel.
Why you love working in Travel?
Travel is a wonderful industry to be involved in. It encompasses all aspects of life… culture, incredible scenery, exciting nightlife, food, amazing experiences and I can’t help but become personally involved in arranging other people’s holidays.
Where is your specialist area and why?
I have a good working knowledge of most areas of the world, but I tend to specialise in bespoke, tailor made trips to North America, the Far East, Australia and European cities.
Favourite 5 Holiday Destinations?
Being so well travelled, I find it very difficult to choose my favourites, but I particularly love Japan, Thailand, The Maldives, Florence, Marrakech and European cities in general.
One tip you would give your customers?
My best tip is book as early as you can whenever possible. Booking late will limit your choices to the places that no one else wants at a higher price.
Any specialisms?
I always try and put myself in my customers shoes, that way, I can create itineraries that maximise the time available and provide great value for money.
Approximately how many countries have you visited?
I have visited 49 counties at the last count.
Your favourite Travel saying / motto?
My favourite travel saying is…”We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.”
Last holiday destination?
My last holiday destination… was a fabulous weekend break to Marrakech… a completely different experience!
